What’s Happening with the New Apple TV?

Apple has not updated the Apple TV 4K since 2022, and expectations for a 2025 refresh have been unmet. Despite rumors of a release before the end of 2025, no announcement was made during Apple’s recent product updates in October. Speculation suggests that Apple may delay home-related product launches until spring 2026, aligning with the anticipated release of a smarter Siri version in iOS 26.4. This timeline could coincide with the launch of a new home hub device, possibly introducing the updated Apple TV, home hub, and HomePod mini in late March or April.

The upcoming Apple TV is not expected to undergo a major design change but will feature significant internal upgrades. It is anticipated to include the A17 Pro chip, first seen in the iPhone 15 Pro models, offering enhanced gaming capabilities and support for console-quality games. This chip will also introduce Apple Intelligence support to the Apple TV for the first time. Additionally, the device is rumored to incorporate the N1 networking chip, enabling Wi-Fi 7 support for faster and more efficient connectivity.

New Siri features, powered by the advanced chip, will enhance Apple TV’s functionality, offering improved recommendations, expanded voice command capabilities, and better support for queries related to content. There is also speculation about a potential price reduction, with an entry-level model possibly priced around $100, although the flagship version may remain higher due to its advanced components.

Recent reports indicate that the Apple TV and HomePod mini are ready for launch, with dwindling supplies in retail stores suggesting an imminent release. These products are expected to highlight the new Siri and Apple Intelligence features, reinforcing the likelihood of a spring debut.
