Samsung’s Unpacked event on July 22 is expected to be the stage for the company to unveil its next generation of foldables and smartwatches, led by the Galaxy Z Fold 8 family, the Galaxy Z Flip 8, and a new range of Galaxy Watches.
## Galaxy Z Fold 8: two sizes and a larger display?
Recent leaks suggest Samsung may break from its usual cadence and launch two variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. One would be a wider model with a 7.6-inch inner display, while the other would retain a narrower form factor similar to the previous generation. Rumors point to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powering at least one of the variants, along with a notable reduction in thickness compared with the previous Fold. Sources also indicate uncertainty over naming: some leakers claim the narrower model could be marketed as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, while the larger device would take the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 name.
## Z Flip 8: a redesigned hinge to reduce the crease
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 appears to play a less central role in the buildup; the main improvements being reported focus on a reworked hinge designed to attenuate the visible crease.
