What’s new with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7?

Samsung is set to unveil its eighth foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, at the Galaxy Unpacked event in New York City on July 9. Despite being the eighth iteration, it is known as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The new model aims to address previous criticisms by offering larger displays, featuring a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.2-inch main display, both operating at 120Hz. It is also Samsung’s thinnest foldable yet, measuring between 4-4.5mm when unfolded, thanks to the larger screen sizes allowing better distribution of internal components.

The device will be available in black, white, and a standout blue, which is the hero color for Samsung’s upcoming product launches. Under the hood, the Fold 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, promising top-notch performance. It also includes a 200MP main camera, similar to previous models, and runs on One UI 8 (Android 16), with a commitment to seven years of OS and security updates.

However, not all aspects have changed. The battery remains at 4,400 mAh, with a maximum charging speed of 25W, and the telephoto and ultrawide cameras are unchanged from the Fold 6. The Fold 7 maintains an IP48 water and dust resistance rating and features an Armor Aluminum frame.

Expected to be available for purchase between July 23-25, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may come with a higher price tag in Europe, with the 256GB variant listed at 2,227 euros and the 512GB variant at 1,425 euros.
