PowerToys is introducing a new feature that allows Windows 11 users to automatically switch between light and dark themes based on the time of day. Dubbed “Light Switch,” this feature offers a user-friendly interface for scheduling theme changes. Users can set specific times for theme transitions or sync them with local sunrise and sunset times, even adding a custom offset if desired. Additionally, a keyboard shortcut can be configured for manual switching. Light Switch provides flexibility by allowing users to choose whether the theme change applies to system elements, apps, or both. Though not yet available in the stable release of PowerToys, this feature is expected soon, offering a level of customization not natively present in Windows 11.
