The World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2025, along with a High-level Meeting on Global AI Governance, will take place in Shanghai from July 26 to 28. The event will focus on advancements in AI, including large language models and humanoid robots, under the theme “Global Solidarity in the AI Era.” With over 70,000 square meters of exhibition space, the conference will feature 800 enterprises and 3,000 exhibits. Highlights include a dedicated area for more than 40 large language models, 50 AI terminal products, and 60 intelligent robots. Over 100 products will make their global or China debut, setting a new record. More than 1,200 officials, industry leaders, and scientists from 30 countries will attend, including representatives from major companies like Siemens, Schneider, Alibaba, and Tencent. Additionally, China will announce a global AI open-source cooperation initiative to foster technological innovation and development. Experts suggest that AI applications and terminals will be key topics, with a shift towards accessible open-source AI. The conference will also explore advancements in humanoid robots, which are expected to become more capable and affordable, potentially driving significant growth in the sector over the next 25 years.
