Which 7 U.S. states will soon support iPhone driver’s licenses?

Residents in select U.S. states can integrate their driver’s license or state ID into the Apple Wallet app on their iPhone and Apple Watch, enabling them to display proof of identity or age at certain airports, businesses, and apps. Currently, this feature is available in 13 states and Puerto Rico, with plans to expand to at least seven more states, including Connecticut, Kentucky, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Utah, Arkansas, and Virginia. To activate the feature, users need to open the Wallet app, tap the plus sign, and select Driver’s License and ID Cards. Although Apple Wallet IDs are accepted at TSA checkpoints in over 250 U.S. airports for domestic travel, a physical ID remains necessary as they are not recognized by law enforcement and lack other functionalities. Additionally, residents in states without this feature can create a Digital ID using their U.S. passport for identity verification at participating TSA checkpoints, though it is not a substitute for a physical passport for international travel.
