Samsung is expanding AirDrop support to more Galaxy devices through Quick Share. Initially introduced with the Galaxy S26 series, this feature allows seamless file sharing between Samsung and Apple devices. Google, which first integrated AirDrop compatibility into Android with the Pixel 10 series, has now announced additional Galaxy models that will receive this functionality. The eligible devices include the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, Z Flip 6, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Fold 7, and the Z TriFold. However, the Galaxy S23 series, Z Flip 5, Z Fold 5, and mid-range or budget models like the Galaxy A, F, M, and Tab A series, as well as the Galaxy Tab S series, are not included at this time. While there is potential for broader support in the future, the current limitation is due to the need for specific chipset-level capabilities and networking optimizations that mirror Apple’s AWDL technology, which Quick Share utilizes for direct communication with Apple devices.
