Why did a Galaxy S24 suddenly explode in a user’s hands?

In a rare incident, a Galaxy S24 smartphone reportedly exploded in the hands of a user in South Korea. The device was not charging at the time, and the user claims it had no previous damage or repairs. The explosion occurred while the user was browsing the internet, causing minor burn blisters. The local fire department’s investigation pointed to lithium battery ignition, a phenomenon usually associated with battery damage. Samsung has yet to comment officially, though a local service center director has reached out to the affected user, indicating that the company may investigate the device to determine the cause of the explosion.
