Apple is prioritizing a Camera Control button on its upcoming foldable iPhone, known as the “Ultra,” despite the device being thinner than the iPhone Air when unfolded. This decision stems from Apple’s ergonomic considerations, as the company believes that adjusting settings and taking photos on competing foldable phones can be cumbersome due to their size. The Camera Control button is designed to allow users to maintain a steady grip and make adjustments easily, even one-handed, when the screen is fully unfolded. Although this feature has received mixed reactions on traditional iPhones, Apple is confident in its enhanced practicality for foldable devices. The foldable iPhone is anticipated to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in fall 2026, featuring a 7.8-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch outer display, Touch ID, the A20 chip, and the C2 modem.
