Apple has announced plans to permit alternative app stores and third-party payment systems for in-app purchases on iOS devices in Brazil, following regulatory pressure. This change will also enable in-app links to external offers, providing iPhone users in Brazil with options beyond the traditional App Store, such as AltStore. The company has a deadline of 105 days to implement these changes, aligning with a potential release of iOS 26.4 by early April. Apple has previously introduced similar measures in the EU, Japan, and South Korea, and may soon face similar requirements in the UK and Australia. Despite these changes, Apple continues to emphasize the privacy and security benefits of its own App Store.
