Will Apple launch a new flip iPhone with a radical design?

Apple is reportedly preparing to release its first foldable iPhone, featuring a sleek design and four cameras, potentially hitting the market next year. The tech giant aims to tap into the nostalgia for early 2000s flip phones. This new model is expected to rival existing foldable phones from Samsung and Google, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Although no official images have been released, AI-generated visuals offer a glimpse of what the device might look like. The anticipated launch is slated for September 2026, as part of the iPhone 18 lineup, with a price tag around £1,474 ($1,999). Unlike previous models, this iPhone will likely feature Touch ID instead of Face ID due to design constraints. It may also lack a SIM slot, relying on eSIM technology instead. The phone is expected to be slightly thicker than some competitors but will maintain a competitive weight. Apple has faced delays in developing the foldable phone, primarily due to challenges in minimizing the screen crease. Before this release, Apple plans to unveil the iPhone 17 series on September 9, 2025, which will include four different models.
