Will EU Users Miss Out on Features in iOS 26?

Apple has confirmed that its upcoming iOS 26 will lack certain features for users in the European Union due to regulatory challenges. The company is working to comply with the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), which has led to the delay of some features. Notably, the “visited places” feature in Apple Maps, which tracks users’ locations, will not be available in the EU upon the software’s release. Apple is still evaluating which other features might be affected and is striving to make them available as soon as possible. The company expressed concerns that opening its ecosystem to competitors could compromise user security. EU users have previously experienced delays in accessing new iOS features, such as Apple Intelligence and iPhone Mirroring on Mac.
