Samsung has introduced its latest DRAM chip for mobile devices, the LPDDR6, which promises enhanced performance and reduced power consumption compared to its predecessor, the LPDDR5X. This advanced chip, which has earned the 2026 Innovation Award in the Mobile Devices category, is built on a 12nm process node and achieves data transfer rates of up to 10.7Gbps. While it matches the speed of Samsung’s current LPDDR5X chips, it offers improved security and is 21% more power-efficient, thanks to a dynamic power management system. This makes it particularly suitable for high-end mobile devices, potentially including the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. Combined with UFS 4.1 storage and next-generation processors, the new RAM could significantly enhance the performance of future smartphones.
