Will Your PC Get the Windows 11 2025 Update?

Microsoft is launching the Windows 11 2025 Update (version 25H2) for compatible devices starting September 30, 2025. This update will initially be optional and gradually made available to all users. For those already on Windows 11 version 24H2, the update will install as a cumulative update due to the shared core file system. However, users on older versions, such as Windows 11 version 23H2 or Windows 10, will need to perform a complete reinstallation.

Users can access this update through the “Windows Update” settings, the Installation Assistant, or by using the ISO file. The rollout will prioritize fully compatible devices, with the update expanding to more hardware configurations over time. Factors such as hardware compatibility, driver issues, and geographical location may influence the timing of the update’s availability for each device.

For those on version 24H2, it is recommended to use the “Windows Update” settings to install version 25H2. Users still on version 23H2 or Windows 10 22H2 must first upgrade to version 24H2, which requires a complete reinstallation, before applying the 25H2 enablement package. The Installation Assistant and ISO file offer alternative methods for installation, allowing users to manually trigger the update process.
