Will the iPhone 17e Feature Dynamic Island and A19 Chip?

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17e is expected to introduce significant upgrades, including a pill-shaped Dynamic Island cutout and a downclocked A19 chip. The device’s mass production is anticipated to begin this month. The current iPhone 16e features a notch at the top of the display and is powered by Apple’s A18 chip with a 4-core GPU. In contrast, the iPhone 17e is set to replace these elements with the newer Dynamic Island and a downclocked A19 chip, which is expected to offer performance comparable to the A17 Pro chip. The Dynamic Island will provide an interactive area at the top of the screen, integrating the camera and other front-facing sensors. The iPhone 17e is likely to maintain a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. Rumors also suggest the inclusion of a magnetic ring for MagSafe charging compatibility, a feature absent in the iPhone 16e. To reduce costs, the device might use either the older C1 or C1X modem, but it will not include the N1 wireless chip. Production is slated to start after CES, aligning with a potential spring launch, approximately a year after the iPhone 16e’s February release. The starting price is expected to remain at $599.
