How did a Y Combinator-backed startup raise $3.6 million to revolutionize doctor’s office operations with AI?

Tej Seelamsetty, after experiencing a dislocated shoulder and facing delays in the healthcare system, co-founded the AI startup Tivara with Aumesh Misra. The company aims to streamline administrative tasks in medical offices, such as managing patient calls, scheduling, and refills, thereby reducing the workload associated with medical visits. Tivara raised $3.6 million in a seed round, supported by investors like Mischief VC, Day One Ventures, and Y Combinator. Prior to this venture, Seelamsetty worked in a Medicare brokerage, witnessing inefficiencies in insurance processes. Tivara targets large specialty medical groups and has notable clients like the Los Angeles Cancer Network. Unlike other AI startups, Tivara focuses on administrative tasks rather than clinical ones, aiming to enhance productivity without complicating processes. The company plans to use the funds to expand its team beyond its current five full-time employees.
