Berlin-based audio startup Mirelo has secured a $41 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz and Index Ventures, with contributions from Atlantic.vc and TriplePoint Capital. Founded in 2023 by AI researchers and musicians CJ Simon-Gabriel and Florian Wenzel, Mirelo aims to transform how audio is integrated into visual content across various media, including videos, gaming, and films. The platform allows users to generate synchronized sound effects and music for videos swiftly, enhancing creative expression by improving on default machine-generated audio.
Mirelo recently launched Mirelo Studio, which offers features like text-to-music support and multiple audio takes for precise fitting. The company’s SFX v1.5 model is noted for its efficiency, requiring significantly less computational power than typical large language models. Users can edit audio elements and incorporate additional sounds through a central interface.
CEO Simon-Gabriel emphasizes Mirelo’s mission to democratize access to high-quality audio creation, allowing both amateurs and professionals to enhance their projects while automating synchronization tasks. Despite the competitive landscape of the AI audio sector, Mirelo’s innovative approach and robust technology position it for potential success. The company offers a free tier and subscription plans to cater to diverse user needs.
