Is Honeywell planning to sell its logistics tech units to focus on automation?

Honeywell is set to streamline its operations by exploring strategic alternatives for its Productivity Solutions and Services (PSS) and Warehouse and Workflow Solutions (WWS) businesses. This move is part of a broader strategy to transform Honeywell into a pure-play automation company, concentrating on building, process, and industrial automation. The company plans to separate into three independent entities by late 2026, with the aerospace division set to spin off next year.

PSS, a key player in mobile computing and barcode scanning, and WWS, known for its supply chain automation solutions, are both significant contributors to Honeywell’s revenue. Despite their success, Honeywell aims to focus on its core automation competencies, driven by long-term growth opportunities.

Jim Masso has been appointed to lead Honeywell’s process automation sector, bringing extensive experience from his previous roles at Allied Power Group and General Electric. His leadership is expected to drive innovation and growth in this sector.

Honeywell continues its strategic evolution, having recently completed several acquisitions and divestitures, including the sale of its Personal Protective Equipment business. The company has engaged Centerview Partners to guide the evaluation of its strategic options for PSS and WWS, while maintaining its timeline for other planned separations.
