Every May, Apple unveils new accessibility features for devices like the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, typically just before Global Accessibility Awareness Day. This year, a standout feature is the natural language support for Voice Control on the iPhone and iPad, which has been enhanced with Apple Intelligence. This upgrade allows users to interact with their devices more intuitively, using natural language to describe on-screen buttons and controls instead of relying on exact labels or numbers. Initially available in English in the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Australia, this feature suggests a more personalized Siri is on the way. First announced at WWDC 2024, the upcoming Siri is expected to understand natural language, have on-screen awareness, and execute tasks across apps. Users might soon ask Siri about personal plans or interact with apps like Instagram and shopping platforms. Although these enhancements were delayed, they are anticipated to be key features in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, set to be revealed on June 8 and released in September. The advanced Siri will likely require the latest Apple devices, such as the iPhone 15 Pro or newer, a Mac with an M1 chip or newer, or an iPad with an A17 Pro or M1 chip or newer.
