In 2021, Samsung unveiled the ISOCELL HP1, marking a milestone as the first 200MP camera sensor for mobile devices, setting a new standard for resolution in smartphones and tablets. Since its debut, the sensor has been widely adopted, particularly by Chinese smartphone manufacturers eager to leverage its advanced capabilities. The latest to join this trend is Xiaomi, which has incorporated Samsung’s 200MP camera into its newly launched flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Max. The phone’s primary rear camera features the ISOCELL HPB sensor, introduced by Samsung last year, yet intriguingly, Samsung has not yet utilized this cutting-edge technology in its own smartphone lineup.
