Will a cheaper, lighter Apple Vision Pro arrive by 2028?

Apple is developing a more affordable and lighter version of its Vision Pro headset, but its release is not expected until late 2028 or 2029. The company is working on a slimmer design and reducing costs for the $3,499 headset, which is currently on hold. This upcoming model is different from the “Vision Air,” which was canceled last year. Meanwhile, Apple’s focus has shifted to smart glasses, with plans to launch them by late 2027. In October 2025, Apple updated the Vision Pro with a new model featuring an M5 chip.
