Can Instagram users now rearrange their profile grid posts?

Instagram has introduced a new feature that allows users to reorganize posts on their profile grid in any order they choose. This update, available on both iPhone and Android apps, lets users long-press a post, select “reorder grid,” and drag posts to their desired positions. The changes are saved instantly and visible to all visitors. Previously, Instagram profiles displayed posts in reverse-chronological order, with an option to pin up to three posts at the top. The new feature removes these restrictions, offering users greater flexibility in arranging their content. Pinned posts will still remain at the top, regardless of other changes. This update follows a year-long testing phase and was initially announced in January 2025 after Instagram’s switch to vertically oriented thumbnails disrupted many users’ profiles.
