The Global Schools Group, which operates the Global Indian International School in Singapore, has experienced a cybersecurity breach, compromising sensitive data of students, parents, and staff. The Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) is investigating the incident, which reportedly involved 4.8 terabytes of data, including personal details like home addresses and passport numbers. The breach was claimed by a hacker group known as Fulcrum Sec. The Global Schools Group has taken immediate action with external specialists to contain the breach and restore affected systems, prioritizing the security and privacy of their community. The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore is advising the group on securing its servers. Fulcrum Sec, known for targeting cloud-stored data, has been linked to multiple data breaches, including those affecting notable firms like YouX and LexisNexis.
