What new features does iOS 27 bring to HomePod?

With the release of iOS 27 and HomePod Software 27, Apple introduces AutoMix, an AI-driven Apple Music function that seamlessly blends songs by matching key and tempo. Enhancements to AutoMix’s algorithms promise smoother transitions between tracks, enhancing the HomePod experience. Previously, under HomePod Software 26, users only had access to the crossfade feature, with AutoMix unavailable directly on the HomePod. However, AutoMix could still be utilized via AirPlay if the device supports it. Additionally, the new HomePod Software 27 beta confirms compatibility with the original HomePod model, dispelling earlier doubts. The software is expected to exit beta alongside the general release of iOS 27 this fall.
