Devplan has officially launched, securing $2.5 million in seed funding to enhance product intelligence in software development. The funding round was spearheaded by AI2 Incubator and Acequia Capital, with additional investments from Mighty Capital, Grand Ventures, and eLab Ventures. Founded by Chris Bee and Anton, Devplan aims to tackle the coordination challenges faced by modern software teams, as AI accelerates code creation, allowing smaller teams to undertake projects once reserved for larger organizations. Despite these advancements, coordination tools have lagged, leading to inefficiencies in understanding project changes, prioritization, and feature functionalities. Devplan addresses this by integrating existing tools like Slack, Jira, and GitHub into a cohesive product intelligence layer, centered around its knowledge graph, Weaver. This platform offers real-time insights into progress, risks, and opportunities, reducing time spent on information retrieval and context reconstruction. Additionally, it empowers AI agents with organizational understanding, enhancing their collaboration with human teams. Early adopters have reported significant time savings and cost reductions. Devplan anticipates that as AI continues to transform software development, a dedicated system for maintaining shared understanding will become essential.
