Is Apple’s Home Hub Finally on the Horizon?

In the latest iOS 27 beta update, Apple has enhanced the Home app to enable remote software updates for Apple TV. This new feature aligns Apple TV with the HomePod and HomePod mini, which have long supported updates via the Home app due to their tvOS-based operating system. This change hints at Apple’s plans for a forthcoming home hub device, anticipated to be managed and updated through the Home app. Expected to launch later this year, the home hub will likely feature a 7-inch square display with integrated speakers, functioning as a central unit for smart home management, video calls, weather updates, and Siri interactions. The device is speculated to be a blend of a HomePod and iPad, running on a version of tvOS.
