Are Meta Glasses outshining Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses?

Meta has announced a significant update to its smart glasses strategy with the launch of its own line, Meta Glasses. These new models offer a wider variety of styles and, notably, are more affordable than the existing Ray-Ban and Oakley-branded options. The new Meta Glasses start at $299, compared to the $379 starting price of the latest Meta Ray-Ban models. Developed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, these glasses do not feature any eyewear branding, although Ray-Ban and Oakley are both part of the EssilorLuxottica family. Customers can select from 26 styles, featuring various colors, lenses, and frames. Adding a touch of glamour, Meta has introduced an oval model co-designed by Kylie. Functionally similar to previous models, these glasses are the first to incorporate the newly reimagined Meta AI experience, powered by the latest Muse Spark model. This development underscores the industry’s push to blend fashion with affordability. Meanwhile, Samsung’s entry into the smart eyewear market involves collaborations with Google, Qualcomm, and eyewear brands like Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.
