Apple has significantly raised prices across several of its product lines. After a brief downtime, Apple’s online store returned with updated prices. Key increases include the HomePod mini now at $129, up from $99, and the HomePod at $349, up from $299. The Apple TV has jumped to $199 from $129. iPads have seen notable hikes, with the iPad now at $449, up from $349, and the iPad Pro reaching $1,199 from $999. MacBooks are also affected, with the MacBook Pro now priced at $1,999, up from $1,699, and the Mac Studio (M3 Ultra) at $5,299, up from $3,999. The average increase across products is approximately $246.67. Interestingly, the iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods, and some accessories remain unaffected.
Additionally, the 256GB Mac mini has returned to the lineup, but now costs $799, marking a $200 increase. Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, recently explained that the rising costs of memory and storage chips have necessitated these price adjustments, describing the situation as unprecedented in his 40-year career. Historically, Apple has absorbed such cost fluctuations, making this a significant change in strategy.
