Apple has introduced refurbished MacBook Neo models in its Certified Refurbished store, just a day after increasing the prices of these laptops and several other products. The refurbished MacBook Neo is available in four colors—Silver, Citrus, Indigo, and Blush—and in two configurations. The base model, featuring 256GB of storage, is priced at $599, while the premium version with Touch ID and 512GB storage is available for $679. This pricing strategy positions the refurbished units below the current new model prices. Recently, Apple raised the price of the new MacBook Neo to $699, up from its initial launch price of $599 in March. Similarly, the higher-end model now costs $799, an increase from $699. The refurbished options are thus offered at prices close to the original rates before the hike. The company attributes these price adjustments to a memory chip shortage, largely driven by high demand from AI server companies. This shortage has significantly increased the costs of RAM and SSD storage, affecting products like the MacBook Neo. The price changes also impacted the Certified Refurbished store, with increases applied to refurbished Macs and iPads. The MacBook Neo, equipped with the A18 Pro chip, 8GB of RAM, and a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, remains Apple’s most budget-friendly Mac.
