Will Apple’s first foldable iPhone launch shortly after Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8?

Samsung is set to unveil its next-generation foldable smartphones at an event on July 22, 2026. Meanwhile, Apple is poised to make its debut in the foldable smartphone market with the iPhone Ultra. This new model is expected to be launched approximately a month after Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. Apple traditionally announces new iPhones on the first Tuesday or Wednesday following Labor Day, which suggests a possible unveiling of the iPhone Ultra on September 8 or 9. Alongside the iPhone Ultra, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are also anticipated to be introduced. All three models are likely to be available for purchase later in September, positioning them to follow the August release of Samsung’s latest foldable devices.
