Qualcomm has revealed the dates for the Snapdragon Summit, set to take place from September 22 to 24 in Maui, Hawaii. The event is anticipated to showcase the next-generation Snapdragon mobile chips, potentially the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series. These chips are expected to be integrated into Samsung’s Galaxy S27 series, promising enhanced performance. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro may feature advanced technology, including TSMC’s 2nm node and Qualcomm’s Oryon CPU cores. The Pro variant is speculated to include a more robust Adreno 850 GPU compared to the Adreno 845 GPU in the standard model. There is speculation that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro to ensure top-tier performance. The Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ might utilize the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. Samsung may also secure exclusive, high-performance versions of these chips for its premium Galaxy lineup, continuing its strategic partnership with Qualcomm.
