Could Google’s new app simplify document signing on Galaxy phones?

Signing digital documents on Galaxy devices that support the S Pen is straightforward, but it can be challenging on those without a stylus. To address this, Google is developing an Android app named Signature, designed to streamline the document signing process. The app allows users to create digital signatures via touchscreen, camera, or keyboard, offering three signature types: typed, drawn, and photographed. These signatures are securely stored within the app, ready for use whenever an app requests them. When needed, the Signature app opens in a partial-screen window, letting users select the preferred signature format. The app is reportedly already available on devices with the June 2026 Google Play system update and is compatible with Android 12 or later, eliminating the need for separate software updates by manufacturers.
