Does Samsung’s Bespoke AI now clean more types of fabric effectively?

Samsung expands its Bespoke AI lineup with redesigned washer and dryer that recognize more fabric types while optimizing time and energy.

New models and availability
Samsung is launching refreshed Bespoke AI Washer and Bespoke AI Dryer models first in South Korea, with a wider rollout to other markets starting this month. The washer is offered in 10.5–13 kg capacities, while the matching dryer ranges from 10–13 kg. Both units share a coordinated aesthetic and sit at the premium end of Samsung’s laundry portfolio.

AI Wash+: fabric recognition and automated adjustments
The washer introduces AI Wash+, which combines multiple onboard sensors to assess drum load, fabric type and soil level. The system now classifies garments into five fabric families—cotton, delicates, towels, denim and outerwear—and automatically adjusts water volume, detergent dosing and cycle duration to match the load. The result is a more tailored wash without manual cycle selection.

AI Dry+: faster, smarter, more efficient drying
The Bespoke AI Dryer uses AI Dry+ to monitor humidity and temperature throughout the cycle. It recognizes four fabric categories (Denim, Delicates, Normal and Towels) and dynamically controls the inverter compressor and heat-exchanger settings to accelerate drying while reducing energy use. Samsung claims up to a 20% improvement in both drying time and energy consumption compared with previous models.

Screen, connectivity and voice assistant
Both appliances feature a 7‑inch Smart Screen (touch LCD) that centralizes controls and shows post‑cycle reports. Deep SmartThings integration plus an enhanced Bixby lets the machines learn user habits and recommend optimized cycles. Users can invoke voice commands and control their washer and dryer remotely via the SmartThings app.

Everyday performance and use cases
The expanded fabric recognition—especially denim and technical outerwear—broadens the practical utility of these machines for modern households where sportswear and outer layers often require special handling. By combining machine learning with mechanical adjustments, Samsung aims to deliver more precise cleaning and drying outcomes with minimal manual oversight.

Market outlook and practical appeal
By optimizing water, detergent and heat based on real-time sensing, Samsung positions the new Bespoke AI models as both performance-oriented and sustainability-minded. The premium positioning leans on intelligent automation as a differentiator in a competitive market, targeting consumers who value convenience, connectivity and operational efficiency.

Bottom line
Samsung’s updated Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer add broader fabric recognition, smarter cycle automation and up to 20% gains in drying speed and energy efficiency. With SmartThings connectivity, a touchscreen Smart Screen and enhanced Bixby support, the line is aimed at simplifying laundry care while improving efficiency and results.
