Samsung Unpacked, scheduled for July 22, is already losing its element of surprise. New leaked images offer detailed looks at the next generation of Samsung’s foldables and undercut much of the visual drama expected around the event.
Context
Samsung’s annual Unpacked event traditionally hosts a slate of major product reveals. Leaks have become routine, and this round focuses squarely on the foldable lineup and the company’s next smartwatches.
The leaks in detail
What appear to be official-looking renders show the Galaxy Z Fold 8 — described as the larger variant — a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. Several images place the devices side-by-side, providing a clear comparison of formats and proportions across the family.
Design and color variants
The visuals also reveal new color options. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is shown in a Pistachio finish, reportedly exclusive to Samsung’s online store, while the Galaxy Z Flip 8 appears in a Mint shade for online sales. Overall styling stays true to Samsung’s recent aesthetic, with subtle tweaks to bezels and the hinge design.
Features and positioning
The renders suggest a clear product hierarchy: the Fold 8 Ultra maintains a premium posture, the larger Fold 8 aims for a balance between reading comfort and compactness, and the Flip 8 remains the more pocketable, mobility-focused choice. The images, however, do not confirm final technical specifications or the software enhancements that will accompany these models.
Watches and other devices
The leak package also includes renders of the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, which look evolutionarily similar to their predecessors with expected refinements to sensors and the user interface. Accessories are less visible in the leaks than the foldable phones.
What this means for the event
The surprise factor has clearly been diminished: the main visual and design elements are already in the public domain. Samsung may still reserve unexpected announcements — software innovations, final pricing and availability, or a surprise product such as smart glasses — to reignite interest on launch day.
Looking ahead
These leaks already sketch Samsung’s fall lineup: refined foldables, online-exclusive colorways, and updated smartwatches. Still, Unpacked’s value often lies in the technical details and hands-on experience revealed on stage — and those elements could yet deliver a few surprises when Samsung presents the products officially.
