How will TripWip use its $4.2M seed round to expand carsharing in Latin America?

TripWip, a Uruguayan peer‑to‑peer carsharing marketplace, has closed a $4.2M seed round to accelerate regional expansion and product development.

A mixed, strategic seed round
The $4.2M round brings together regional and strategic funds, OEM investors connected to Toyota and Kia, and founders/operators from mobility and marketplace companies such as Kavak, dLocal, Uber, PedidosYa and Rappi. Lead and participating backers include Latin Leap, CrossBoundary, Yango Ventures, Promotora Social de México and Satrack Ventures, alongside industry executives and mobility-focused investors. These partners provide both capital and operational networks to support TripWip’s growth across Latin America.

A fully digital, insured marketplace
Founded in 2023 by Juan Manuel Pancic and Juan Andrés Vico, TripWip operates a 100% digital platform that connects private car owners with renters. To secure transactions, the startup has local insurance partnerships: Sancor in Uruguay, Rus Seguros in Argentina and AXA in Mexico, which cover every rental booked through the platform.

Planned use of funds and expansion priorities
TripWip will deploy the funding for geographic expansion—targeting Monterrey and Los Cabos in Mexico, plus Mendoza and Bariloche in Argentina—and for marketing, technology and AI investments. The company aims to grow activity sixfold over the next 24 months while strengthening its position in existing markets.

Operational traction
Current metrics: more than 150,000 registered users, over 3,000 listed vehicles and upwards of 60,000 rental days across Uruguay, Argentina and Mexico. TripWip reports 4x year‑over‑year growth and a team of 20 employees.

Outlook
With this seed round, TripWip is positioning to scale commercialization and bolster its technical platform, leveraging strategic industrial partners and mobility talent to accelerate expansion across Latin America.
