Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: What are the camera specs?

Samsung has equipped the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with an ambitious camera array centered on a 200 MP main sensor, aiming to close the imaging gap with traditional flagship phones. Here’s a sensor-by-sensor breakdown of what the device brings to the table.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra — rear sensors in detail
– Main sensor — 200 MP: The primary wide sensor uses 4-in-1 pixel binning (quad-pixel), supports autofocus, and features optical image stabilization (OIS). Aperture is f/1.7, effective pixel size 0.6 µm, and field of view is about 85°. For video it handles up to 8K at 30 fps and 4K up to 120 fps.
– Ultra wide — 50 MP: The ultra-wide is also configured for quad-pixel binning with autofocus, an f/1.9 aperture, 0.7 µm pixels and a roughly 120° field of view. It can record 4K video at 60 fps.
– Telephoto — 10 MP 3x: The telephoto lens offers 3x optical zoom, 10 MP output with phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) and OIS. Aperture is f/2.4, pixel size 1.0 µm, field of view about 36°, and video capability up to 4K/60 fps.

Two front cameras for different use cases
The Z Fold 8 Ultra includes two front cameras: one on the exterior cover and one under the internal display. Both are 10 MP sensors with f/2.2 apertures and 1.12 µm pixels. The cover (outer) camera has an ~85° field of view and records 4K/60 fps. The under-display camera also supports 4K/60 fps but provides a wider ~100° field of view, better suited for video calls and wide-angle shots when the device is unfolded.

Stabilization and video capabilities
OIS is present on the 200 MP main sensor and the 10 MP telephoto, improving handling for photos and moving footage. Video-wise, the Z Fold 8 Ultra covers a broad range: multiple cameras capable of 4K/60 fps, the main sensor supporting 8K/30 fps, and the main sensor offering 4K/120 fps for high-resolution slow motion.

Summary
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra prioritizes a very high-resolution main sensor, complemented by a versatile 50 MP ultra-wide and a stabilized 3x telephoto. The dual-front-camera setup offers flexibility between cover and under-display use cases. Overall, the specs show Samsung’s intent to deliver a full-featured camera experience on a foldable platform by focusing hardware upgrades on the primary sensor and stabilization for video.
