Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra deal: up to $1,200 trade‑in or $200 credit?

Samsung is offering two ways to reduce the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra in the United States: a trade-in program worth up to $1,200, or a $200 Samsung Credit that must be spent on other items.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra — trade-in vs. Samsung Credit
– For preorder customers, Samsung lets you choose between an immediate discount via trade‑in of an eligible device (up to $1,200) or a $200 Samsung Credit. The $200 credit cannot be applied to lower the purchase price of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra itself — it must be used to buy accessories or other eligible products added to the same cart with the Fold 8 Ultra, otherwise the credit is forfeited.

Preorder trade-in tiers (maximum amounts)
– Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 7: up to $1,200
– Galaxy Z Fold 6: up to $1,100
– Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 5: up to $900
– Galaxy S24 Ultra: up to $850
– Galaxy S26+, Galaxy Z Flip 7: up to $700
– Galaxy S26, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Edge, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S23 Ultra: up to $600
– Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S22 Ultra: up to $500
– iPhone (trade-in values): up to $550

Note: those amounts are the maximum possible values for each device. Samsung will determine the final trade‑in value based on eligibility criteria and the condition of the returned hardware.

PayPal promo
– Preorder buyers can get an additional $100 off by entering promo code PAYPAL100 and paying with PayPal at checkout.

Other models and scope of the offer
– Samsung says similar trade‑in offers and credits apply to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. The Fold 8 Ultra is the only model called out as eligible for the extra PayPal promo code.

Bottom line
– If your goal is to directly reduce the Fold 8 Ultra’s purchase price, trade‑in is the better option. The $200 Samsung Credit makes more sense if you plan to bundle accessories or other eligible products with your preorder.
