BCI startup Active Technology raises RMB330m in record angel round

Shanghai-based BCI startup Active Technology has completed an RMB330 million angel round, setting a record for angel financing in China’s brain-computer interface sector. The company, which focuses on invasive brain-computer interface technology, was established in February 2026.

The round was led by Zhongke Chuangxing, with Lenovo Star, 9 Capital, Daotong Investment, Inno Angel Fund, Huada Songhe Biotech Fund, Jifeng Capital and Jiadao Capital also participating. The company said it will use the funds to expand facilities, improve equipment, advance clinical trials and enlarge its team.

Active Technology said it has built a 2,500-square-meter site combining offices and a GMP workshop, and plans to build a new headquarters of more than 10,000 square meters by the end of 2026.

Its product roadmap covers motor, visual and emotional brain-computer interfaces, with development spanning flexible electrodes, dedicated chips, decoding algorithms and system integration.
