Pathway Raises $30M Seed Round at $500M Valuation

On August 13 (UTC+8), Pathway, a Palo Alto–based AI research lab, closed a $30 million seed round at a $500 million post‑money valuation.

Pathway’s funding and investors

The round was led by Id4 Ventures, TQ Ventures, Red Bridge Ventures, Kadmos Capital and WS Investment Co., the investment arm of Wilson Sonsini, with angel participation from Jonathan Frankle, Chief AI Scientist at Databricks. The funding brings Pathway’s total seed financing to $30 million and establishes the company’s post‑money valuation at $500 million.

Research focus and planned use of funds

Pathway is researching and developing “post‑Transformer” model architectures. The company said it will use the new capital to scale high‑performance computing capacity—specifically mentioning next‑generation NVIDIA Blackwell/GB300 systems—and to accelerate the creation of industry‑specific inference models for financial services, technology and healthcare.

On‑chain activity tied to the deal was noted as reflecting strong institutional interest in AI‑driven innovation.
