iPhone 18 Pro: A20 Pro 2nm Chip Promises Gains; iPhone Ultra Supply Very Limited

A known Weibo leaker, Fixed Focus Digital, says the iPhone 18 Pro will ship with an A20 Pro chip that is up to 18% faster and up to 30% more power efficient than the iPhone 17 Pro’s A19 Pro, and that the iPhone Ultra — a foldable device — will have very limited supply when it first launches later this year. The leaker also reported that the A20 Pro will be the first iPhone chip built on TSMC’s 2nm process instead of the current 3nm process. Apple’s annual iPhone event is likely less than a month away.

Fixed Focus Digital specified performance and efficiency gains for the A20 Pro: up to 18% faster and up to 30% more power efficient compared with the A19 Pro used in the iPhone 17 Pro. The account added that the A20 Pro will be manufactured on TSMC’s 2nm process rather than the current 3nm process, marking a manufacturing-step change for iPhone chips.

The same source stated that the iPhone Ultra — described as a foldable device — will face very limited supply at initial release later this year. No shipment numbers or exact launch date were provided by the leaker.

Apple’s annual iPhone event remains expected within the next month, according to the report.
