Huscarl raises $5.6M to scale AI actuary for self-insurance

Huscarl has raised $5.6 million in a seed round led by FRST on September 1, 2026, to expand its autonomous AI actuary platform for the corporate self-insurance market.

AI actuary platform

The startup is developing an autonomous AI actuary for corporations and insurance captives, providing infrastructure to help businesses manage their own risk retention more effectively. Its software platform ingests unstructured data to generate bespoke risk models and to orchestrate workflows, with the aim of enabling corporate risk managers to handle their own insurance risks autonomously.

Funding and plans

The seed round was led by FRST, with participation from Y Combinator and various Silicon Valley investors. Huscarl plans to use the $5.6M to expand operations in the United States and to accelerate development of its autonomous AI actuary platform.

Founded by Alexandre Musy and Paulien Jeunesse, Huscarl is categorized in Insurance Technology. Company website: https://huscarl.io
