Apple’s settlement website is now live after the company agreed in May to pay $250 million to resolve a U.S. class action lawsuit over the delayed launch of Siri AI. Eligible iPhone owners can submit claims online between September 21 and December 21 to receive an estimated payment of $25 per eligible device, with a maximum possible payment of $95 depending on the number of valid claims and other factors.
Siri AI lawsuit and settlement
Apple denies all allegations in the lawsuit but agreed to the $250 million settlement to avoid the costs and risks of a trial. In announcing the agreement, the company said it settled “to stay focused” on “delivering the most innovative products and services to our users.” The settlement website is now accepting claims from eligible customers.
Why Apple was sued
In June 2024, Apple previewed new Siri capabilities powered by Apple Intelligence, including personal-context understanding, on‑screen awareness and deeper per‑app controls, and promoted those features in presentations, on its website and in a television commercial. After Apple delayed the personalized version of Siri in March 2025, a class action lawsuit was filed alleging false advertising.
Apple later announced Siri AI at WWDC 2026 in June. Siri AI is available on iPhone 15 Pro models and newer running iOS 27, which was released last week; the feature is still considered a beta.
Who is eligible and how to claim
To be eligible, you must reside in the U.S. and have purchased one of the listed iPhone models in the U.S. for purposes other than resale between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025. The full list of eligible models is: iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Eligible customers should receive an email in the coming days containing a claim ID and a PIN code, but the settlement website also allows filing a claim without those items. The claims form requests personal information and the eligible iPhone’s serial number; if you indicate you do not have the serial number, the form asks for your Apple Account email address and the eligible iPhone’s phone number.
Payments and timeline
Under the settlement terms, each person who files an eligible claim will receive a per‑device payment of $25, which could increase up to $95 if fewer claims are submitted than anticipated. A final approval hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027, so payments are not expected to begin until some point next year.
