Meta smart glasses: Four new models revealed ahead of Samsung launch

Meta has unveiled four new smart glasses — the Meta Adventurer Glasses, Ray-Ban Meta Audio, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) and Meta Ray‑Ban Display Glasses — as Samsung prepares to start selling its first smart glasses, Intelligent Eyewear, developed in collaboration with Google, Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

Meta smart glasses lineup

Meta’s new collection spans a wide range of features and prices, from $249 to $799, and targets both audio-first and display-equipped users with varying levels of on-board sensing and AI functionality.

Meta Adventurer Glasses

The Meta Adventurer Glasses carry a $249 price and include a 12MP camera, speakers and microphones. They run Meta AI, which can fetch information from the web, answer questions, interpret what the wearer is seeing to offer help and live recommendations, translate languages in real time and perform other tasks. The glasses also support music playback, calls, capture of 12MP photos and recording up to 3K video at 30fps. Additional features include live location sharing and music match.

Battery life is up to 8 hours of mixed use on a single charge and extends to 40 hours with the included case. The Adventurer Glasses offer 32GB of storage, Wi‑Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4, and are compatible with Android and iOS smartphones. They have a black frame with gray lenses and will be available starting October 23, 2026.

Ray‑Ban Meta Audio

The Ray‑Ban Meta Audio are Meta’s first audio-only smart glasses and omit an onboard camera. They feature a slim frame with professionally adjustable temple tips, adjustable or swappable nose pads and overextension hinges. Weighing 43g, they come in Clubmaster and Burbank styles.

These audio glasses use open-ear speakers for audiobooks, music and podcasts, and a six-microphone array for clear voice capture on calls. Users can interact with Meta AI by voice to ask questions, translate conversations, set reminders and more. Battery life is up to 12 hours of mixed use and up to 48 hours with the included charging case. They support a wide range of prescription lenses, are priced at $349 in the US and will be available starting October 2026.

Ray‑Ban Meta (Gen 3)

The Ray‑Ban Meta (Gen 3) are Meta’s third-generation AI-powered glasses and include an onboard 12MP front-facing camera, microphones and stereo speakers. Meta says the Gen 3 design is slimmer than Gen 2 and delivers longer battery life — up to 9 hours of mixed use, one hour more than the previous generation.

The 12MP camera can record up to 3K video at 30fps. The Gen 3 glasses offer the same AI capabilities as the Ray‑Ban Meta Audio plus the ability to understand surroundings via the camera to provide contextual assistance. They are offered in 27 style combinations across Aviator, Wayfarer and a new Zena style. The Ray‑Ban Meta (Gen 3) are priced at $449 in the US and are available for pre-order.

Meta Ray‑Ban Display Glasses

The Meta Ray‑Ban Display Glasses add a full-color display to the Ray‑Ban form factor, embedding a 600 x 600-pixel display in one lens. In addition to an onboard 12MP camera, microphones and speakers, the display can show phone notifications, previews of captured photos and videos, navigation directions, translated text and video calls.

Meta has introduced hands-free navigation, hologram personas for video calls and notification mirroring from a paired phone for these display-equipped glasses, along with new apps and integration with Threads. Controls include taps, touches and swipes on the temples and the bundled Meta Neural Band, an electromyography accessory worn on the wrist. Battery life is up to 6 hours of mixed use and up to 24 hours with the provided charging case, which contains a built-in battery.

With models covering audio-only, camera-equipped and display-equipped designs and prices spanning $249 to $799, Meta is positioning a multi-tier lineup ahead of Samsung’s entry into the smart glasses market.
