Crux Analytics Raises $2.2M Seed to Help Banks Win Small‑Business Clients

Crux Analytics has raised $2.2 million in seed funding to help financial institutions engage, acquire and retain high‑potential small‑business relationships without adding headcount, bringing the company’s total funding to $3.2 million.

The seed round was led by Castle Creek Launchpad, a joint‑venture fund with 34 community banks as limited partners, and included participation from Chartway Ventures, One Washington Financial and Curql, three credit union investment funds. Crux says the funding will enable it to expand its team and accelerate product development as it capitalizes on strong market momentum and a growing portfolio and pipeline of financial services providers that began with community banks and credit unions and has since expanded organically.

Founded in 2023 by brothers Jacob and Nathan Bennett, Crux was driven by Jacob Bennett’s firsthand experience of the challenges small businesses face when seeking banking support. As a former small business owner and consultant to Fortune 500 companies, Jacob observed that traditional financial institutions often underserved small businesses compared with larger clients.

Crux Analytics’ platform and approach

Crux replaces the traditional sales enablement stack with a sales execution engine, delivering agentic business development workflows that help users identify, research and prioritize high‑potential prospects, execute targeted personalized outreach, and actively monitor relationships as they evolve. The company says the result is a streamlined workflow that drives new revenue and asset growth while improving efficiency, enabling institutions to win more small business clients, deepen existing relationships and build a stickier client base without proportionally increasing headcount.

“This funding comes at a critical time. We built Crux for community banks and credit unions, and what we learned there is that the same relationship problem exists across the small business economy. Alternative lenders, commercial insurers and real estate operators all win on relationships, and they all lose time to the operational work that sits behind them. We’re giving those teams the infrastructure to act on what they know about their clients, so growth comes from deeper relationships rather than bigger headcount.” — Jacob Bennett, CEO and Co‑founder of Crux Analytics.

Sector health and market opportunity

The announcement cites robust financial health across community financial institutions. Community banks closed out 2025 with full‑year net income of $29.9 billion, a 22.5% increase over 2024, and net interest margin of 3.77% in the fourth quarter, the highest level since 2018. That strength continued into 2026: community bank pretax return on assets stood at 1.42% in the first quarter, up 26 basis points year‑over‑year, and net interest margin remained 24 basis points above its year‑ago level.

Credit unions also reported strong metrics in early 2026: the sector’s net worth ratio reached 11.24% in the first quarter, up from 10.95% a year earlier and more than 60% above the 7% regulatory threshold for a well‑capitalized institution. Net income for credit unions totaled $20.4 billion at an annual rate, up 30.5% from the same period in 2025.

“Having worked closely with community banks through our strategic limited partners, we’ve seen how these institutions are built for relationships but lack the operational tools to deliver on that promise at scale. Driving outbound sales has always been a challenge for community banks, which historically have relied on referrals from their local networks. More banks are now looking for new ways to chase organic growth, and their business relationships are crucial to achieving that. Crux Analytics unlocks that potential by automating the manual work so community banks can focus on what matters most, building meaningful relationships with local business owners.” — Jurgen van de Vyver, Castle Creek Launchpad.
