Samsung has pushed the September 2026 security patch to Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy S24 FE in several global markets ahead of the forthcoming One UI 9 update.
Galaxy S24 September 2026 update details
The 2024 flagship lineup — Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra — has begun receiving the September 2026 security patch in several ASEAN markets with builds ending in DZI1. The Galaxy S24 FE is rolling out the same patch with build S721BXXSEDZI1. The September 2026 Security Maintenance Release (SMR) included with these builds addresses 90 security threats. This release is a dedicated security update and does not introduce new features, as One UI 9 is expected to be the major forthcoming upgrade.
One UI 9 rollout timing and regional differences
According to reports, Samsung is expected to update these phones to One UI 9 in the first half of next month. In South Korea, there is a high chance that the stable One UI 9 update will arrive early next week and will likely be bundled with the September security patch. Globally, One UI 9 is still roughly half a month away for many users, so Samsung supplied a standalone September 2026 security update in the interim. One UI 9.5 has not been released to anyone yet.
