Samsung has accelerated the global rollout of One UI 9, extending the update beyond a limited release in South Korea to the Galaxy S26 flagship series, the predecessor Galaxy S25 series and the company’s current premium foldable phones.
One UI 9 eligible Galaxy models
The One UI 9 update is being deployed simultaneously to Samsung’s two current top-tier bar-style lines. The Galaxy S26 Series receiving the upgrade includes the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Galaxy S25 Series covered by this rollout includes the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy S25 FE.
Among these models, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is described with a hardware platform optimized for the new interface: a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 For Galaxy processor, 12GB of RAM, a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 2K+ resolution, a 200MP camera supporting 100x zoom, and a 5000mAh battery with 60W fast charging.
Foldable lineup and broader availability
Samsung has also begun rolling out One UI 9 to its latest foldable devices. The update has been released for the Galaxy Z TriFold triple-screen device, along with the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7. Samsung says the release for the foldable series aligns its interfaces and software features across the multi-screen ecosystem. The list of eligible devices is expected to expand to older generations after the company completes system optimization.
How to check for and install One UI 9
Samsung distributes major software updates in batches by market and geographic region to preserve server stability. Users with eligible devices can check for the update by opening the Settings app, selecting Software Update, and tapping Download and install. If One UI 9 is available in the user’s region, the system will display details so the user can download and upgrade.
