Apple Plans Two Separate Product Launches in October

Apple is preparing two separate rounds of product announcements in October, with an event already reported for October 13 and an additional launch window slated for the final week of the month.

A recent report from Mark Gurman says Apple will unveil an all-new home hub, a new HomePod mini and a new Apple TV 4K on Tuesday, October 13.

Multiple sources familiar with the matter say Apple also plans to reveal additional new products in the final week of October. The most likely candidates for that later announcement are Macs, including the long‑rumored “MacBook Ultra” models featuring OLED displays and a thinner, lighter design, a base model 14‑inch MacBook Pro with an M6 chip, and an iMac with an M6 chip.

Apple has previously announced a high‑end Mac Studio configuration with the M5 Ultra chip and 512GB of RAM that is due in “late October.”

Another product expected this month is a new iPad mini with an OLED display, an A20 Pro chip, a landscape front camera and a redesigned speaker system. It is unclear whether the iPad mini will be announced at the October 13 home event, alongside the Macs in the final week of October, or at another point during the month.

Also on the calendar, the iPhone Duo is scheduled to launch on Friday, October 23. Overall, Apple appears set for a busy second half of October with two distinct sets of product launches.
