Google Play Store Now Sells Samsung Galaxy Phones in Some Regions

Google Play Store has quietly added a “Shop devices” section to its mobile app, and users in select markets can now buy Samsung Galaxy phones alongside Google Pixel devices.

Google Play Store ‘Shop devices’ varies by market

The new Shop devices option appears in the account selection pop-up menu of the Play Store app, but availability differs by region and user experience varies. In some markets the section is visible but offers only Google Pixel phones; for example, the hardware shop is live in India and currently lists Pixel models exclusively.

Screenshots from users in other regions reveal that Google is selling at least two Samsung models through the Play Store: the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Google lists the Galaxy S26 with the tagline “Capture every detail with pro-grade precision,” and describes the Galaxy S26 Ultra as having “The most powerful processor on Galaxy.”

The inclusion of Samsung devices alongside Google’s own Pixel hardware marks a notable change for the Play Store. The terms of any collaboration between Google and Samsung remain unclear: neither company has commented on the matter, and it is not known what cut, if any, Google may earn on Galaxy phone sales made through the Play Store app.
