Galaxy S27 Pro Reportedly Packs Larger Battery Than Expected

TÜV certification listings reveal the typical and rated battery capacities for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro. The Ultra’s battery (EB-BS958DBY) is listed with a typical capacity of 5,700 mAh and a rated capacity of 5,534 mAh, while the Pro’s battery (EB-BS957CBY) shows a typical capacity of 5,240 mAh and a rated capacity of 5,087 mAh. Samsung usually advertises typical battery capacity in its official specs, so these figures will likely appear in the handset’s launch materials.

The same battery model numbers also appear on South Korea’s Safety Korea database, and China’s 3C agency certified matching rated capacities last month. The 3C listings pointed to typical capacities of 5,700 mAh for the Ultra and 5,200 mAh for the Pro; the TÜV entries put the Pro at 5,240 mAh — 40 mAh higher than the earlier figure — while the Ultra’s estimate matched. The report notes a 700 mAh boost in battery capacity for the Ultra. The Pro has no direct predecessor for a like-for-like comparison.

Positioned as a compact alternative to the Ultra, the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to omit the S Pen and a few other features found on the Ultra while keeping a feature set closer to the top model. The device is likely to feature a 6.47-inch display, putting it near the base model’s 6.3-inch size. More leaks and details are expected in the run-up to Samsung’s launch early next year.
