Is Apple Testing a New Siri with Popular Apps Like Uber and YouTube?

Apple is currently testing a redesigned version of Siri with a selection of third-party applications, such as Uber, YouTube, Amazon, and others. The updated Siri is also being trialed with Apple’s own apps, enhancing its ability to understand user context and provide deeper controls within apps. Announced at WWDC 2024, the new Siri promises improved personal context awareness and on-screen interaction, powered by Apple Intelligence and an enhanced App Intents system. Users will be able to execute complex tasks using voice commands alone, such as editing photos or interacting with social media posts. These features are set to be available across Apple’s devices, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. The rollout is expected to begin in the U.S. by spring 2026, but may be staggered globally. Apple is considering restrictions on Siri’s capabilities within sensitive apps like banking and health to prevent potential errors. If successful, this could mark a significant step towards realizing Apple’s vision of a fully voice-controlled digital assistant.
